Koh Samui’s Big Buddha (Wat Phra Yai) is located near Bo Phut in a small island called Koh Faan, just 15 minutes away from Malibu Resort & Beach Club, Koh Samui. A popular place for locals to pray for prosperity, the temple is most famous for its ancient Buddha statue which is painted completely in gold and decorated with mosaics. Standing at over 12 meters tall, the statue can be seen from many kilometers away. The Big Budda is also located on incoming flight paths, so it is often the first thing visitors see from the plane while landing in Samui, it is certainly a wonderful way to be welcomed on the island.
